Czech Republic & Poland

Knowing we would be apart for two months as Megan was in Cuba, we planned a big trip for when she got back. We went to the Czech Republic and Poland. The countries of our ancestors! We started out in Prague. It was so very beautiful. On the first day we took a walking tour of the city, given by a young Czech student. It started in the Old Town Square, took us up to the Prague Castle, down through the Lesser Town, across the Charles Bridge and into the Old Town, and finished in the Jewish Quarter. It really gave us a good feel for the city - one that we would utilize to the fullest over the next four days as we explored all around on our own. We took so many pictures....so so many!!! Around every corner was another amazing sight to capture. Here were some highlights from Prague:

From Prague we took a train east towards Poland, however we stopped in Olomouc, CR on the way for one night. It was much quieter than Prague and had more of an authentic Czech feeling to it, although that could be because much fewer people spoke English. We enjoyed our little respite in this small town. We especially enjoyed the experience of buying an alarm clock from a woman who was extremely excited about her clocks and persisted in speaking to us in Czech despite the fact we had no idea what she was saying! Here are some pictures from Olomouc:

From there we were on to Krakow, Poland! We truly enjoyed our time in Krakow. The people were very friendly and so full of life. Not to mention that everyone Michael saw reminded him of someone from his high school! We spent a few days exploring and enjoying all Krakow had to offer:
